Take Advantage of Workshops to Enhance Your Skills and Acquire New Ones

These skills could have been identified either at home or at school but most likely, these have been given opportunities to improve at school through different simple or basic workshops. However, whenever an individual finds himself the need of being employed, he needs to gather all of his best skills upfront at a show to his prospective employer-to-be. With this kind of situation, that person should take advantage of intermediate workshops that come across his way.

People of the working age are oftentimes expected to have mastered their dominant skills if they have identified them. Most employers expect their applicants to possess high general foundation skills and at least an experienced level of the required skills for the job. Unfortunately, employers obviously prioritize those who are at the intermediate level. This kind of instance triggers a person’s need to develop and improve his skills and if needed be, turn his skills into a craft. This way, people make way and spend quality time undergoing certain types of workshops to improve their general skills and somehow acquire new technical skills that goes well with the job they are applying for. Actually, this is the smartest move a person can do in order for him not to be left out in the industrial competition.

Since everyone has the general foundation skills, all they need to do is to add new skills to make their competitive profile more interesting in the eyes of the employers. Nowadays, there are many workshops offering these technical skills to get along with the general skills a person have. These technical skills may vary depending on the willingness and capacity of a person who wants to acquire it and how he will be using them in his job. Applicants are now aware that employers are interested in multi-skilled applicants and this is the reason why they set aside ample time to learn the new in-demand skills as much as they can.

Determine Your Skills and Enrich Them through Workshops

A person may have a variety of skills while an employer looks for certain type of skills a person must possess in order to be hired. So what are these certain types of skills that a person should have?  Skills are developmental talents of a person that he learned since childhood. This means that a skill is expected to be learned by a person on a certain age and eventually is expected to be mastered on a certain age as well.

General skills are the ones that are originally executed at home and are eventually honed in schools for years. These skills include reading, writing, computing, and communication skills. Communication skills involve oral and listening. Problem-solving, creative thinking, self-esteem, motivational or goal-setting skills are also introduced during these developmental stages. As a person reaches the adult stage, he acquires employability, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.

However, there will always be a certain skill that will stand out from the rest. This dominant skill or sets of related dominant skills will be noticeable in a person’s working age in which he will soon master and innovate in time. Most of the time, these become the foundation skills of how a person gets hired in a certain employment.  Artistic, interpersonal, technical, and industrial skills are a few to mention but are the most common skills needed by an employer from an applicant. If people could only notice how other people manage enriching their skills so easily, they should look on how they choose the workshops these other people take advantage of to improve the dominant skills they have.

But a person should first determine that dominant skill or sets of related skills. At school, these have been recognized by the teachers and mentors and could have done a significant part in improving these skills during those past years through different types of workshops but not to their fullest yet. Once those dominant skills are identified, the appropriate workshops that can fully enhance them can easily follow as there is a variety of available workshops to choose from.

Entering the industrial world can be challenging for a beginner but can easily be penetrated by a person who has mastered his skills and turned them into his craft. Workshops play a significant role in improving a person’s sets of skills and producing not only productive people but as well masters of their own crafts.

Achieving Your Goals by Honing Your Skills through Workshops

Everyone possesses different sets of skills.  These sets equip the person towards achieving a certain goal although people have to take note that each goal needs different skills in order to achieve it. This is why a person sometimes needs to have more than just one skill and master the additional skill if needed.  Most of the time, mastering the needed skills is a must and even acts as a plus factor.

However, as time goes by, these sets of skills need to be replenished, enriched, or better yet – modified. The sets of skills will only be the same sets of skills you have in the past unless you step forward and improve them. This is where a person needs to access different workshops to improve their certain skills because a certain type of skill requires a certain type of workshop in for enhancement purposes.

People should also understand that skills are dynamic sets of acquired learning that need enrichment from time to time. They also have to understand that these skills may tend to be stagnant if not improved or used in some way or even in a while.  Skills are supposed to be functional and contributing positive results to the person who has it. Most of the times, these skills are the ones taking a person towards achieving his goals successfully.

Most importantly, a person’s goal levels up as he grows older. The goals he had will never be the same goals he will have as time goes by. This kind of unavoidable and developmental situation significantly affects the person’s needed skills to successfully achieve it. What he needs is not only to improve the skills but to acquire new ones. He can easily do this through workshops. Workshops are brief intensive courses that introduce a person to the next level of improvement, develop that person through brief trainings, and eventually produce a new skillful person to be recognized in the next complex situations. There is a variety of workshops that improve and teach the essential skills a person needs in order to improve and prepare for the next level of goal-setting.

Most people say that skills are a person’s natural talent that only waits for the proper time to be executed and multiplied functionally while workshops are designed to guide and mold such skills to produce more skillful and talented people in preparation for new complex goals to be achieved successfully.

Strangers You Know: Different Definitions of Tanghod

Tanghod is a Tagalog action word that kids do when they are waiting for their parents to come home. They do this while sitting on the porch while waiting for their mom or dad with their hands on their chin. This is also commonly done by teens whenever they see their crush coming by or passing by with both hands on their cheeks. For adults,  this is a perfect word to describe eavesdropping in a certain conversation or forum.

People say it’s cute to see kids do this. It absolutely true. Kids doing this are even featured in commercials. It portrays a good description of family ties. Also, it is cute because it’s a way of expressing admiration to a person like your crush. It’s one way for a person to say something about his/her feelings but doesn’t have the guts to say it personally to his/her crush.

However, I hate to say this but the last description is the most despicable of all definitions I have noted. Especially, if this is being done by an adult. An adult who is compulsively doing it and can’t help himself/herself from doing it.

Why is this act so disgusting when done by an adult?

Eavesdropping carries both advantage and disadvantage. Advantage because you’re not being left out. You earn awareness by having an attentive ear, intentionally or unintentionally. However, its biggest disadvantage is when it becomes a rumor and get spread out through rumor mongering. Another negative thing to add is when there are certain conversations or fora  holding a specific topic then someone begins to jump in out of nowhere, making all topic participants end up with a blank face because the newly-joined in participant says something that is totally out of the topic.

It is totally unethical for an adult, especially in workplaces. Working people are expected to hold such ethical grounds when handling conversations as well as accidentally running into a forum. It is always best to be invited to join in a conversation instead of gatecrashing a forum and say anything that comes in your mind, without thinking about it.

Sad to say but there are people who act like this and feel that there’s nothing wrong about what they’re doing. Imagine having an office-mate who effortly leans his/her back just to read an email on your computer from his/her seat. Well, actually It’s not only in the workplace that these people harbor. You can even see them in a commuting scene too. Try to observe people who tries to lean over or extend their visual powers when someone is trying to text or press something on their cellphones. These irritating people try to read or snoop in on whatever that is on your mobile phone. It may not bear anything to other people but you will never know when this kind of act can simply challenge someone else’s  patience.

Why does this happen?

There are different reasons behind its cause although you can say that all can be psychological. For the intentional cause, there’s a big personal purpose that is driving a person to eavesdrop.  That person may want to learn and be updated about something. It is like a call for awareness. You can also call that as motivation. However, there are uncontrollable acts of eavesdropping. It can be caused by paranoia or it can also be a compulsion.

So how you deal with paranoid and compulsive eavesdropper?

Awareness of the signs and symptoms of paranoia and compulsion is a good step to take. Understanding the afflicted person can be the next step. However, there are inevitable consequences and circumstances when a situation begins to go beyond a person’s control. An ordinary person may not be able to handle it which may lead to isolating the afflicted person even if he/she is still functional. If it may cause mayhem to his/her colleagues, proper actions should take place. There can be unfortunate situations that the afflicted person needs to receive medical intervention and recommendations.

Bottom line here is to choose the best way on how to deal with these kinds of people. Rooting out the answers why people become like these is a long-term procedure to complete and it takes a lot of psychological measuring tools to use because it is not a simple behavior to observe.

How to Deal with Annoying Seatmates

Almost everyone experienced having a seatmate. Of course!  You had one in kindergarten, nursery, elementary years, even at work! You cannot get away from having a seatmate. But what if your seatmate is annoying? What do you do?

Well, let me share some of the things I did way back I started doing naughty things. Or should I say, I’m still doing it despite being a grown up.

If my seatmate is annoying, I always turn my back on him/her. I started doing this when I was in kindergarten. I can say that almost everyone had that kind of naughty feeling about their seatmate. Most especially, if you really don’t like him/her in the first place. I don’t want to brag but I hate my seatmate before because she was a nobody. Say it so immature but yes. I’m just describing my kindergarten behavior. That’s all.

Next, I remove myself from any crowd that annoying person joins in. Call it immature again but it’s one way of giving myself a break from being annoyed and provoked to become something else by the sight of such annoyance.

Just to break from the immature things, I observe. I look how that annoying person usually does things in his/her own way and try to give myself some reasons why it’s annoying. I do this without overruling my concepts of how annoying his/her actions are.

I kinda extend my understanding that there are people that are indeed born that way and that there is nothing else I can do to change it. In the first place, I don’t have the right to change it.

If worst comes to worst. I confront. I guess there’s nothing wrong with it as long as you’re doing it a professional way. Dealing with annoying people can be a real pain in the neck, especially if the annoying person feels that there’s nothing wrong with what she/he is doing.

There are many other things a person can do to deal with an annoying seatmate. I only mentioned some of things I did and may do if in case I encounter an annoying seatmate. So far, avoidance is still the best for me when dealing with it. This way, I keep myself from provoking myself to act on what is wrong and just pretend that there are kinds of people that exist. It is even best to keep physical violence at bay.
